JetBlue is one of America's favorite budget airlines, taking travelers across America and the surrounding areas at low cost.If you find yourself flying on JetBlue at least once a year, you may want to consider one of the the co-branded credit cards offered by Barclaycard: JetBlue Plus.
The Barclays Arrival Plus World Elite Mastercard is a good card for travel, with an $89 annual fee that’s waived for the first year.Cardholders get 2X miles per dollar spent on every purchase, a 0% intro APR for balance transfers, and a variety of World Elite Mastercard benefits. There’s also a signup offer of 60,000 bonus miles for paying the annual fee and spending $5,000 in the first 90 days after account opening. That would be worth $600 when redeemed, providing a 12% return on your spending.
JetBlue Plus Card - Earn 40,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 in the first 90 days
JetBlue Card - Earn 10,000 bonus points after purchasing $1,000 in the first 90 days
JetBlue Business Card - Earn 30,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 on shopping in the first 90 days
If you only occasionally take JetBlue, the JetBlue card may be enough. If you achieve the minimum spend, you can still earn 10,000 registration bonuses. In addition, you can earn points at JetBlue shopping, restaurants, and grocery stores as well as daily consumption.
If you feel that you don't have enough extra rewards to earn an annual fee of $99 for the JetBlue Plus Card, stick to the more basic JetBlue card. You can still get a generous reward and extra allowance for an annual fee of $0.
You can only earn points for meals and groceries. This is good if most of your daily expenses fall into these categories. But if your spending varies widely, consider whether another travel reward card like Capital One Venture Rewards is more appropriate.
You can redeem JetBlue flights. If you know that you will be flying on JetBlue, this is not a big deal. But if you want more flexibility or will visit places where JetBlue will not fly, then consider whether the co-branded JetBlue card is right for you. Or, if you get a general travel reward card you can use any airline better. From January 2017, you can only redeem TrueBlue points on JetBlue and its partner Hawaiian Airlines.
The premium JetBlue Plus card stands out with 40,000 points, 10% discount, free checked baggage and 5,000-anniversary bonus points.
There is no annual fee for the JetBlue card to provide 10,000 registration bonuses, as well as 2 times points for restaurants and groceries, no foreign transaction fees and chip technology - for a card without an annual fee it is definitely a good extra charge.
