There’s another card in Capital One’s Venture line, with different card terms and rewards. It might be a better option for you, depending on what you’re looking for in a travel credit card.

I had mailed in a check to my propane company, they didn’t receive it for....3 weeks and it hady Capitol One credit card info on it. I mailed it three miles away so I knew it didn’t three weeks to get there. All of a sudden three weeks later there are 6 charges from the propane company, 5 of them reversed off, and then 4 random payments to a Chinese “clothing retailer.” Labeled something like FAC*ATHLETI29474*Sb, for $213, $240, $210 and $320. I called Capitol one, they said okay don’t worry we will send you a new card and you being a Capitol One protected card member, none of these charges will be your responsibility. In 24 hours, they literally wiped the four charges clean. Bc how coincidental is it that the one single time ever I mail a payment in a my credit card info on it, it take three weeks to get 3 Miles, (they only accept mailed payments.) and then three weeks later I have a bunch of random Chinese charges on my card after the propane company got my check three full weeks later. Their customer service is excellent, reassuring, great to work with.

Been “collecting” travels cards for over a year now, finally Cap1 approved me for the Venture card 2 months ago. Very happy to add it to my collection. The fact that it’s a Visa Sig, accepted almost everywhere (my backup card when people don’t take my Amex Platinum) also you start off w 5k limit so very easy to rack up the points. It’s crazy how quickly 2x miles add up. It’s so nice to see how quickly points are added your account even before the transaction is officially posted (unlike Amex points) Even better the annual fee is waived the first year. Can’t wait to ask for a credit limit after 3 months, or is it 6 months? Anyone anyone confirm? Anyways, love this card will have a permanent spot in my wallet
